CBD Is Schedule 1, Is This a Joke

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) claimed that Cannabidiol, CBD is Schedule 1, a controlled substance! Who is kidding who? An article in the Miami Herald May 3 2018, stated that the DEA wanted a clarification that CBD is a controlled substance. The DEA claims that the extract comes from marijuana which is a controlled substance. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, a Federal court sided with the DEA. The Hemp industry is up-in-arms because CBD is also produced from the hemp plant.

Beside Myself

CBD is Schedule 1I am so beside myself right now. I am trying to maintain composure so that I can relay this information to you with accuracy, CBD is found in hemp and has been very beneficial to help control certain symptoms. There are no psychotropic effects with CBD, the same as with an aspirin. Many people who need the whole plant extract from Indica cannabis have settled for CBD so that they did not have to worry about the legal issues. Now that this is placed before them, what choices are left? There is but one choice, pharmaceuticals.

Getting the Picture

Is the picture starting to form here for you? I certainly hope so. Big Pharma has reached an even lower low. But to me, it is crystal clear just how much influence the pharmaceutical companies have on our lawmakers. We constantly see how pharmaceuticals are destroying lives. Yet, because of the huge amount of money made, they are still allowed to continue. I hope that you will join me and contact your federal congresspeople to let them know just how mad you are. The link is below if you do not know who your Representatives are.

Let your Government Know

Please, I urgently request that you join with me in an effort to let our government know that we want the medication that God gave us without all the bureaucratic red tape. Even with states that made medicinal cannabis legal, the expense is so great that many can not afford it. Again, their only option is pharmaceuticals. For a few dollars for seeds and solvent, I can produce enough whole plant extract to last the year and for many, save their own lives.

God bless you in this life and the next!

Secret to My Success

Since the recent posting of my newest profile picture on Facebook, I have had a few people ask me the secret to my success with cannabis and supplements. What it is that I am doing. And while I can tell you that there is not a super pill, there is a list of things that I follow. I am often surprised at the reactions when I explain the things that I do.cannabis and supplements - me

stay as close to God made as possible

Let me first start by telling you that my goal is to stay as close to God made as possible. I absolutely believe the Bible to be the word of God. 1 Peter 2:24 states “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Kings 3:14 says “and if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you long life.” Hosea 4:6 “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. …” I am not going get churchie here but just to point out where my faith lies. Why things had to get so bad before getting better, I don’t know. Why must a caterpillar die before the butterfly emerges?

Yes, I have made mistakes and still do, but God is gracious to forgive them and forget after I ask. I also knew that I could not thrive without gaining a lot of knowledge that pertained to me.

I despise pharmaceuticals! Having had to take some antibiotics because of such serious infection(s), I was prescribed Opioids for the pain in my legs at night and Baclofen to help reduce the severe muscle spasticity. I found cannabis, a God given herb, will control both pain and spasticity without the nasty side effects. If you know me, you can remember the terrible condition that I was in 4 – 5 years ago. My goal has not changed and though it seemed like it was not working, I believed that what I was learning and knew would not fail.

cannabis and supplements

I have been taking nutritional supplements since 2007 because it sounded like a good idea. I’ve also known that I had to take responsibility and learn all that I could about was I was taking. You’ll find that Youngevity’s Beyond Tangy Tangerine to be a complete supplement lacking only the omega fatty acids. To my discovery that in the chronic condition that I was in I needed to add more to it. So, I also add selenium, calcium, and vitamin D3, found in Youngevity’s Pollen Burst, to my daily routine. There was a time that I really needed my protein level up and Youngevity has a great powder for that. Probiotics and prebiotics to repair the gut from the antibiotics.cannabis and supplements

I found out nearly 3 years ago that I was 190 pounds overweight! Still hard for me to confess that. That is hard to lose when you can exercise but how do you do it sitting in a wheelchair? I knew that I could lose the weight following a high protein, low carb diet. But knowing if I stopped the fat would return so I made a lifetime eating change. As of my last weight check in Feb., I am down 91 pounds. I do use an online site to help me track what I eat so that I can know and no longer guess at the amounts I eat.

bottom line

I think the bottom line is simple, maybe not easy. I had to decide what was important to me. Once that was done it was a daily and sometimes hourly struggle to follow through. There were many nights that I would go to bed with an oxygen hose in my nose, that I asked God to take me home, but if I awake in the morning I would do my best to bring him praise. I have modified my Grammy Pratt’s bedtime prayer. “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray dear Lord, my soul, you’ll keep. If I should die and not awake, I pray dear Lord my soul you’ll take. If I should live another day, in my heart dear Lord I pray you’ll stay.”cannabis and supplements prayin hands

Can Cannabis Ease COPD Symptoms

This is a great subject and is tossed around by proponents and opponents alike. I need to point out that I am not a doctor. Therefore, can not and am not attempting to give you medical advice. This article is for your education only and for you to decide what is best for you. Most everyone agrees that smoke of any kind will irritate even the healthiest of lungs. So what causes the symptoms of COPD? How can an herb help ease the suffering?

Can cannabis ease COPD symptoms? COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a progressive disease that restricts the air flow in and out of the lungs. This happens due to a build up of phlegm and inflammation of the airways. These conditions, if left unchecked will get increasingly worse and has been known to be fatal! Standard AMA approved methods of treating COPD include inhalers, nebulizers, and corticosteroids. Inhalers and nebulizers are delivered to the lungs by inhaling. That indicates that cannabis ease copdmedication delivered into the lungs has a quicker reaction time. Corticosteroids are taken orally or by injection to get the medication into the blood stream.

How can cannabis ease COPD symptoms? My opinion here is somewhat bias because I too had to deal with similar symptoms. Not being able to breathe easily and having a low O2 level, the doctors put me on an oxygen therapy. Daytime levels improved but night time was another issue. After a period of time, the CO2 built up in my blood which caused hypoxia. That trip to the hospital resulted in increased oxygen at night along with a Bi-pap machine. As unusual as it was, my attending physician recommended that I use cannabis and delete the opioid that I had been taking for restless legs and muscle pains.

How to use Cannabis to ease COPD

We have already learned that standard treatment includes delivering directly into the lungs and into the bloodstream. Cannabis can be delivered by both means as well. I found relief by smoking some cannabis before bedtime. However, I must report that the harshness of the smoke was sometimes tough to take. I bought a small inexpensive vaporizer that could vaporize the dried herb. That made inhaling the cannabis much easier and less harsh, without the burnt carbon and higher heat. This gets the medication into the source of the problem. I found that after a relatively short period of time that I was able to stop using the O2 during the day. Every morning I could count on coughing up phlegm.

After making my first batch of RSO, I stopped vaping and just took the oil orally. Soon afterward the doctor determined that I no longer needed the Bi-pap and reduced the nightly O2 amount. I personally have found benefits to both delivery methods and have become comfortable using both methods and I enjoy easy breathing.

How does cannabis ease COPD

Cannabis has many compounds that are still being discovered. The two main cannabinoids are THC and CBD. Both of these elements act as anti-inflammatories and relaxers. I found through research that the cannabinoids in cannabis are easily absorbed because the body already has receptors to receive them. Much like the food that you eat is digested and assimilated, so is the cannabinoids assimilated.

Chemicals and lab produced compounds have to trick your body into doing what it wants it to do. The body can not absorb these pharmaceuticals and therefore often have some lingering and often serious side effects. You need to decide what method of treatment you would prefer. Discuss it with your doctor, or one that with discuss it with you. I have taken a very proactive stance on my health recovery and it seems to be working. I hope that this information helps to answer any or at least one of your questions that you may have had.

Willie Nelson and Medicinal Cannabis

Willie Nelson and medicinal cannabis seem to be a joke to many. Those are the ones who really do not take the time to review what they are laughing about. Willie Nelson was born in April of 1933. During an interview as reported in The Cannabist, Willie Nelson tells that he started smoking cannabis when he was 19 or 20. The man is nearly 84 now and still has an engagement schedule.

Younger Willie Nelson

Willie joined the Air Force out of High School. The Air Force released him early due to back issues. According to WikipediaWillie Nelson and medicinal cannabis, after the military, Willie Nelson went to college. It was there that he decided that music was going to be his niche in life. The medicinal values in the cannabis relieved a lot of discomfort and spasms from his back problem. I know from personal experience that cannabis will indeed help to control or even eliminate muscle spasms and pain. More important than masking the pain, the cannabinoids will also go to work and repair damaged tissue. That is far more than any pain killer that the pharmaceuticals offer can say.

When Willie Nelson is seen “getting high”, he tells them that it is medicine and proven to be medicine, end of story. We post many articles that prove the many claims of medicinal cannabis and Willie just helps to solidify them. Too many people suffer from ailments that vary from annoying to fatal. Most of them could get relief by using this incredible herb. Our governments want to hinder our ability to get and use cannabis.

I would encourage you to stay in touch with your leaders on local, state and federal levels. They need to know that you demand the ability to choose what medicines are right for you. If you would like a safer non-toxic solution to any ailment, talk to your doctor and your elected officials. The list of conditions and diseases that cannabis will help cure Willie quote medicinal cannabisis growing every day. Be like Willie Nelson at 84 singing and dancing to your good life!

My Medical Cannabis Journey

The Beginning of my medical cannabis journey

My medical cannabis journey started some time ago. I have been reading and learning about the medical benefits of cannabis for over 2 years. Taking the herb by inhaling occasionally at night to help me get to sleep. It helped with my restless legs and eased the muscles. The problem was that marijuana was still not legal in our state as yet. So I would alternate with an Opioid prescription. At the end of March 2016, I was hospitalized with Hypoxia, a condition where the oxygen in the blood is very low. I was told that the CO2 level in my blood was 135. I was also told that level would be fatal in most cases but my body’s ph was high enough to counter the CO2 poison.

The Dr. in charge made the recommendation that I stop the Opioid and only use the cannabis since there are no known ill effects. Since then, our state legalized for medicinal use but with many restrictions. I ordered and grew my own weed with the plan to make my own oil. I had a moderate amount of success and got enough bud material to produce a fair amount of oil.

What are my symptoms

The doctors have all kinds of words to describe various issues. Mine are much simpler. I want to list all my symptoms and keep track of any changes. As of January 2017, I have been dealing with severe muscle spasms and muscle rigidity. This has become so bad that I could not walk even with a walker. I also have a bladder incontinence problem with the need for reading glasses and more than 100 pounds overweight. With constipation, restless legs (evening time), night time hypoxia (shallow breathing), tinnitus. I am taking Rick Simpson’s challenge and that is to find something the oil won’t help.

Getting started

my medical cannabis journey I finally made my oil and got started with the very small dose on January 20th, 2017. Just a quick note, start off with small doses. I made the arrogant decision to think that I could handle a larger dose. This oil is very potent and will make you feel euphoric. I licked the spatula and about 2 hours later was well aware of my mistake. The great thing was that I had no toxic effects and a couple hours later, I was fine.

I can tell you that after only 2 weeks of using my cannabis oil, made according to Rick Simpson, I no longer need a prescription for muscle spasms and no longer need oxygen during the day. I had to use a Bi-pap at night with oxygen and now I only need the oxygen at night. My weight loss is going well also.

Time for an Update

This is now May of 2017. I have moved from the place that I lived off and on for the majority of my life. My wife and I decided to move to sunny Florida for the year round warmth and to be with our son and his family. I won’t get into details, but stress levels and emotions were very high and chaotic for awhile. See, I lost both parents within 4 weeks of each other. I will miss them greatly but my biggest sorrow was that my father could not get over the negative stigma and propaganda about cannabis to give it a try.
We the people are taught that Doctors know best. I have found that they, in fact, have a lot of training but rarely think outside the box. My father had prostate cancer that was treated with them common chemo and radiation. Cancer disappeared but the radiation caused bleeding in his intestinal tract. The doctors cauterized the bleeders with, you guessed it, more radiation. He endedmy medical cannabis journey leukemia cells up with another disease that I can not remember or spell. All that I knew was that the doctors told him that it was similar to leukemia. His bone marrow was no longer able to produce red blood cells. They told him that there was no cure and that he could receive transfusions as long as they were helpful. Needless to say, the transfusions stopped being helpful. I tried to get him to try the cannabis oil, but he was that there was no information to think that it would be beneficial. My thought was that if it, his disease, was similar to leukemia just not cancerous, how could it not be a possible benefit. My dad was unwilling to give it a try and now he is gone.

Back to my medical cannabis journey

I gradually increased the dosage of cannabis oil to nearly a gram per day taken at bedtime. My supply of oil has been used up, so until I can get enough bud material to make more I am left with inhaling at night and using CBD oil during the day. I am happy to say that the Stanley brother in Colorado have a very fine product at https://www.cwhemp.com/ and they are some of the front runners in the cannabis industry. I do not use pharmaceuticals for muscle spasms or restless legs. Little else has changed but I have barely begun. Please stay tuned to this website and check back for more updates on my medical cannabis journey.

The Bible and Cannabis

There is much thought and discussion about the Bible and cannabis. I have read several articles and even watched a couple of videos. After all of that, I want to share with you, my suggestion. What is the bible and cannabisthe true word of God on the subject? Let’s not get into conjecture and “what if”.

I will be giving you Scripture verses from the New International Version of the Bible. I use that version because it is easier for me to read and understand, just plain English. Genesis 1:12, “The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.” You notice that there is no specification other than “plants bearing seed”. That indicates to me that seed bearing plants and fruits are good.

Genesis 1:29-30, 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. Here the bible and cannabis - genesisagain, literal words tell us that every green plant that bears seed is given to us, by God, for our nourishment. Surely we can feel safe to believe that cannabis being a seed bearing green plant was given to us for our benefit.

The Bible and Cannabis is clear

The Bible and cannabis are really clear. Some people want to retranslate the Bible into saying that cannabis was used in the formula to make anointing oil. I do not have the knowledge to do this and therefore I am not going to promote that theory as truth. I do accept that the bible is the living word of God and is our literal guide to living as our Heavenly Father would have us. There again the scriptures warn us of over indulging in anything and cannabis is NO exception. Hosea 4:6, my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.”

I would encourage you to do right by your Creator and yourself. Take control of your health. Communicate with your elected officials and get the laws changed! Don’t be a victim of the greedy pharmaceutical companies.

Cannabis Oil – The Whys and Hows

There is much information as well as misinformation about cannabis oil. I would like to dispell any misinformation and provide you will the truths that I have come to know. The cannabis oil that I am referring to is an extract from cannabis buds. The oil is achieved by washing the resin from the plant cannabis oilmaterial. Cannabis oil is remaining after the solvent used to wash the material is boiled away.

I found a lot of information on oils produced from cannabis and hemp while doing my research. Most dispensaries have an oil, some even carry  diluted versions called tinctures. I found a video called “Run from the Cure” by Rick Simpson. This video is an eye opener and is full of information. His personal testimonies as well as from other people who used his version of extract.

I have heard many opinions about cannabis oil. You may have heard a fair share of them yourself. The truth that I have come to understand is that the oil if made correctly is better for ingesting than smoking. The oil can also be used in vaporizers. So for those who need to use cannabis for respiratory issues, there are no carcinogens from the burning carbon material. The key is to wash the cannabis material completely. Remove the solvent, and never allow the solvent/oil mixture to get too hot.

Why do it yourself

Some concerns may be not knowing what was used to make the oil. Also the unknown of what solvent was used to make the oil. I was even cautioned about the possibility of overdosing. First of all let start by saying, that if you make your own oil you have ruled out the first two concerns. You know what plant material and what solvent was used. To make the oil for yourself is a simple process and you probably already have the tools needed. I am not a Doctor so I am in no position to tell you what to do or how much to take. I can only say that if a smaller amount is taken to start a couple of times a day the body tends to build up a tolerance to it. That is not to confuse tolerance with resistance. The endocannabinoid receptors already in your body will get used to absorbing the cannabinoids in the oil.

I have included a video for you. It is a little over 20 minutes in length but will give you some verification to this post. I hope that this information will give you some help in your journey. If you should have any questions unanswered, please comment below and I will respond usually within 24 hours. Also, I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. If your state is still not allowing medicinal cannabis, contact your state legislators. We all need to keep on our federal congressional legislators. Cannabis is God given and not man made!

Cannabis – Herb or Drug

Cannabis herb or drug? That is a question of much debate. Merriam – Webster defines herb as:
“a seed-producing annual, biennial, or perennial that does not develop persistent woody tissue but dies down at the end of a growing season – a plant or plant part valued for its medicinal, savory, or aromatic qualities.” This definition really answers the question.

cannabis herbCannabis is a seed producing, flowering plant that dies off at the end of a growing season. There are many varieties but three species, Indica, Sativa, and Ruderalis. Hemp is a variety of the Sativa species which has different values not generally associated with medicine.

Some may bring up the point that the DEA has marijuana listed as a Schedule 1 drug. That means, according to the DEA, cannabis has NO medicinal benefits.  The United States of America used cannabis in medicines to treat numerous medical conditions until the 1900’s. Illnesses including mental disorders, gout, cholera,  hydrophobia, and insomnia. The cannabis herb was also used to treat respiratory conditions like asthma by smoking it. Even more recently, studies suggest that inhaling either the smoke or vapor could help patients with COPD. The THC component has shown signs, in laboratory tests, to even kill cancerous tumors.

What are Drugs

Drugs, according to Wikipedia, are any substance other than foods that when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological change in the body. A pharmaceutical drug is a chemical substance used to treat, cure, prevent, or diagnose a disease or to promote well-being. These definitions may be boring but help us to understand the plant called cannabis.

Based upon these definitions and findings we can conclude that cannabis is an herb with drug-like qualities. The concern that marijuana has psychoactive effects should be no reason to keep it from those that choose to use it. Caffeine is found in countless beverages as well as chocolate also having the psychoactive properties in it. I see no value in banning caffeine, do you? Yet caffeine has no real medicinal value. Your comments and questions are always welcome. Please share your thoughts.

Huge Drug Raid by Mass. State Police & Nat’l Guard

Sept. 21, 2016, drug raid. Image, if you will, sitting at your 81-year-old mother’s table eating lunch

mass-helicopter-drug-raidnot expecting a drug raid. The sound of helicopter blades whirring fills the house and vibrates the windows. You look outside to see a low-flying helicopter hovering and moving slowly about. Two persons are in the open doorway holding something. State troopers arrive in several vehicles minutes after the helicopter leaves. One bangs on the door and flashes a badge asking you if you were aware of any marijuana growing on the property. The trooper tells you that if you do not require a warrant they will not press charges.
Margaret Holcomb after drug raid

Margaret Holcomb and her son Tim Holcomb

This is what happened at an 81-year-old grandmother’s home. She was not at home during the drug raid. Her son and daughter were there having a late lunch. To point out Margaret Holcomb was raising a single plant. Her hope that it would help her deal with the symptoms of arthritis and glaucoma and to help her sleep at night. Although Ms. Holcomb does not hold a medical marijuana card to authorize her growing the plant. Nevertheless, Ms. Holcomb’s herb was in the back yard, fenced in from the neighbors and tucked in her raspberry plants. Ms. Holcomb is not a social activist but says that she feels her civil rights were violated.

State Police Verified The Drug Raid

According to an email to the Daily Hamshire Gazette, a spokesman David Procopio for the State Police verified the drug raid in the Amherst and Northampton areas Sept 21, 2016. The State Police in a joint effort with the National Guard seized a total of 44 plants that day. Of course, the sum of the plants taken was from various properties in those areas. Procopio said that none of the property owners were charged with a crime. Also that the plants were in plain sight. How many people have a thermal imaging device and a helicopter to see in their neighbor’s backyard?

With the amount of money spent on this operation, I can think of far worse crimes to spend it on. Michael Cutler, a Northampton attorney, believes authorities are using up funds allocated before the end of the fiscal year to gas up the helicopter and do fly-overs. “Is this the way we want our taxpayer money spent, to hassle an 81-year-old and law-abiding patients?” Cutler said.

Margaret Holcomb’s son Tim wonders if the crackdown is to stop citizens from self-medicating. As a matter of fact, most of us wonder the same thing. Self-medicating would intrude on the lucrative medical marijuana industry. Once again we can see how money influences the scale of right or wrong. My opinion is that anything that is a danger to society should be legally regulated. Why make something illegal that possess helpful benefits to an individual.
